World Record for Speed Skipping broken by Chinese student Cenxiao Lin

14 year old breaks his world record with a benchmark of 111 in 30 seconds

Dubai UAE, November 30, 2015:   The first ever VLCC World Inter-school Rope Championship was held over three days at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex and was attended by over 250 students from nine countries including Malaysia, China, Austria, Belgium, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Iran and UAE. In the 14 to 17 years boys’ category, the world record for speed skipping in 30 seconds was broken by a Chinese student, Cenxiao Lin from the Qi Xing School in Guang Zhou Province. During the event, he broke his last record of 105 revolutions with a knocking count of 111.

Skippers were from different age groups and the categories were under 11, 11 to 14 and 14 to 17. Some of the schools that participated from the UAE were Sheffield Private School, Uptown School Mirdiff, Delhi Public School Sharjah, The Indian International School, Oxford International Dubai, Our Own English High School and The Indian Academy. Qi Xing School, China backed the overall championship followed by Oscar Romero College, Belgium in second place and Government Boys Senior Secondary School, India came in the third place.

“It has been a great experience for the students in the UAE to interact with others of their age groups from different background, yet sharing interest in the same sport. This event has helped them observe, and get inspired to improve their techniques. I hope that this event was a step towards many such opportunities” said Mohammed Saleem Khan, Director of Burnish Sports Academy.

VLCC joins hands to promote their annual Anti-Obesity Campaign this month with an aim to address the global pandemic, Obesity and its ill-effects. VLCC sponsors the event and has partnered with Asian Rope Skipping Federation, USA Jump Rope, Rope Skipping Federation of India, Dubai Sports City and Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex to make this happen in the UAE. The event is organized by Emirates Vision Events and Burnish Sports Academy.

“We are thrilled to have been a part of the first ever World Inter-school Rope Skipping championship. The response and attendance was overwhelming. We hope to support many such community events which help to create a positive impact on the society to live a healthier life” said Mrs. Vandana Luthra the founder of VLCC Group.

During the Grand finale day on 28th November, the audience participated in the VLCC ‘Standathon’ as a part of their Anti-Obesity awareness campaign.
