Yasalam 2015: Exhiliration continues across the capital

Florence + the Machine ignites 22,000 strong du Arena crowd with rapturous performance

Volkswagen presents Beats on the Beach final night kicked off by Malikah and Arwa and brought to an ecstatic finish by Far East Movement and Faithless’ special 20th anniversary performance for over 20,000 fans

Abu Dhabi, UAE - November 29th, 2015: Multi-award winner Florence + The Machine spread joy throughout the du Arena with an extraordinary performance for the third night of the Yasalam After-Race Concerts. True to her ethos, the singer brought the energy from the track to the du Arena crowd, as cheering fans stayed on their feet for adrenaline-filled renditions of “The Dog Days are Over”, “Ship to Wreck” ‘Cosmic Love’. Harp, organ, horns, guitar and booming drums were sent into action as Florence Welch whipped up the crowd into a state of euphoria with her trademarked bare-foot performance. 

The electric energy continued across the capital to the Corniche with the final night of Volkswagen presents Beats on the Beach, as the best of music from the every shore brought a smash finish to the beloved festival. Rising songstress Arwa, hip-hop pioneer Malikah and Far East Movement set the stage for an epic finale from Faithless with live musicians, a laser show and some of the greatest hits of their legendary repertoire, the trio ensured the Corniche rocked from front to back.  

Over on Yas Island, Yasalam Live at Yas Mall continued with appearances from hip-hop star Malikah, regional talent Arwa and electronic outfit Faithless electronic. More artists will be dropping by from 3pm - 6pm for the final studio day today, 29 November, including blur opening performer Barns Courtney and local favourites The Boxtones.

Tomorrow, Britpop giants blur will ring in the 7th year of Yasalam with an exceptional opening performance from Barns Courtney and race ticket holders will be treated to an unmatchable final ceremony after the headlining act.

Truly embodying the adrenaline-fueled spirit of Yasalam, The Village returned with a new line-up and offerings. Opening an hour before the du Arena every day after the races end, attendees can come early and make unforgettable memories above and beyond the race track and superstar performances.

Starting the evening with a bang are mind-blowing performances from The Act with incredible trapeze and silk artists and dancers followed by the first tastes of musical excellence with shortlisted and runner ups from the Emerging Talent Competition, and winning quarter S.O.S. (Secrecy over Supremacy), lighting up the Village stage ahead of local favourites The Boxtones.

Race fans will feel the good vibes continue with delectable food and drink throughout The Village including Canadian street food from Maple Leaf, master BBQ fare from Just Street Food and gourmet burgers across the way from Jack’s, Lebanese delicacies and Mexican delights, with many more. 

As the final beats of the After-Race performer fades the energy surely will not with local DJs Tim Cheddar and Jon Besant hitting the Village stage to keep the party going until the final chime of midnight.
