Only 10% of senior managers in the Gulf use the right malware defense in the office

Dubai UAE, November 17, 2015: Mobile security is a serious challenge for companies both big and small in the GCC. Even though 80% of senior managers use mobile devices to connect to the Internet at work,  they are susceptible to malware—viruses, Trojan horses and other intrusive software that change quickly. After just one month on the Web, as much as 95% of malware is replaced with something even more menacing, according to telecomm company Verizon.  In this environment, no company is too big or small for strong mobile security.

Recently the United States Department of Defense have adopted Samsung KNOX, a defense-grade mobile security solution. The reason is simple: with the great amount of security threats in the market and the rise of BYOD trend, Samsung KNOX can now update the security policy of its devices in real-time stamping out potential vulnerability, and keeping new threats at bay.

Now the latest version of KNOX comes pre-loaded on the Samsun Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+. The Galaxy Note5 is designed for the enterprise professional who values efficiency and keeps superior performance top-of-mind. With a large-format, 5.7” Super AMOLED screen and an S Pen that delivers mouse-like editing capabilities, professionals can truly multi-task, taking notes, sharing screen shots, or tapping into Microsoft Office 365, a suite of leading productivity solutions, with the unbeatable security of KNOX 2.5. Security-conscious vertical industries will also have access to the fingerprint scanner, an added element of security built right in the Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+.

With enterprise-ready devices supported by KNOX 2.5, businesses can safely operate a ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) program without infringing on enterprise security. The devices support a split-screen that allows users to load their own apps and personal data while protecting company data.

KNOX 2.5 includes features to increase IT manageability and developer expandability. KNOX Shared Devices enable enterprises to pool devices that are shared among employees and use separate logins to safeguard individual data. At the same time, IT managers can manage mobile security through an Exchange ActiveSync Server (EAS). Through the EAS, IT managers can maintain and track multiple devices, encrypt files, and even configure separate billing for personal as opposed to enterprise use through specific apps. Perhaps most importantly, KNOX Active Protection uses Real-time Kernel Protection (RKP) to prevent attacks on kernel data and uses DM Verity to deny access to parts of the system partition if the device fails integrity checks at load time.

Together, Samsung KNOX with the Galaxy Note5 or the Galaxy S6 edge+ Enterprise help businesses work smarter and safer than ever before.
