Meeting to tap into the vast array of companies under the Cleantech banner to boost foreign investment in Dubai’s booming green economy Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Dubai Green Economy Partnership (Dubai GEP) recently met with Cleantech San Diego in California with the aim of promoting the adoption of green technologies, products and services worldwide. The future partnership will also lead to accelerated trade and investment in innovative green technologies regionally and internationally; particularly in the UAE where 2015 has been announced as the ‘Year of Innovation’. The meeting was held when a delegation from Dubai Green Economy Partnership comprising of members from various high-level government bodies, such as Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Investment Development Agency (Dubai FDI) - an agency of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai - EnPark and Dubai Carbon, visited California in an effort to connect the most innovative clean technology companies in Silicon Valley and San Diego with Dubai. Also, the delegation attended the Low Carbon Energy Investment Forum in San Francisco, where Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and EnPark showcased Dubai’s green economy and presented the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy. Cleantech San Diego is a non-profit membership body that positions the greater San Diego region, including Imperial County and Baja California, as a global leader in the clean technology economy. The organisation focuses on fostering collaborations across the private-public-academic landscape, leading advocacy efforts to promote cleantech priorities, and encouraging investment in the San Diego region.
