The results of a recent study by a Swiss travel website shows luxury hotels in Europe how they can work to improve the services they offer to Muslim travellers from GCC countries. A luxury travel website based in Zurich, Switzerland, carried out a client survey to discover how hotels can offer better customer service to travellers from GCC countries. Premium Europe AG questioned 163 of its Muslim customers to find out which specific hotel services or amenities were necessary for them to observe their religion when travelling. The survey also questioned whether non-religious cultural practices could also be served by hotel services or amenities. The survey participants came from Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and all self-identified as practising Muslims who visited Europe at least once a year. Premium Europe CEO Peter Zombori said, “Our survey comes in response to increased demand from the Gulf States and some specific requests we noticed from clients. This led us to find out if there was a wider demand for services and amenities from hotels that could respond to Muslim travel needs, whether they are demanded by Islam or whether they are cultural practices that are common in the Middle East. The results of our study suggest that there is a great benefit to hotel in being able to meet these needs.” The company then surveyed its partner hotels across Europe to see which hotels offered the services and amenities identified by the customer survey. The website www.mypremiumeurope.com now displays this information in an easy-to-read format in its hotel listings. Study results were given to partners to identify areas where they could improve.
