Abu Dhabi, UAE. Sunday, 8th September, 2013:- Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) has launched a Brazilian Portuguese version of its award-winning destination website – www.visitabudhabi.ae. The comprehensive online resource is now available in nine languages.

The introduction of the Brazilian/ Portuguese version follows Etihad Airways' launch, last June, of daily non-stop services from Sao Paolo to Abu Dhabi International Airport and Brazilian travel trade feedback on tactics needed to encourage the Brazilian traveller to a destination.

The move has been welcome by Brazil's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, HE João de Mendonça Lima Neto who anticipates it will spur increasing interest in Abu Dhabi.

“Brazil has long enjoyed excellent relations with Abu Dhabi and having information on the emirate available in Brazil's official language can help reach a wider Brazilian audience and allow it to discover this fascinating destination,” said HE Neto.

www.visitabudhabi.ae, which currently achieves a daily hit average of over 11,000, is a valuable source of information for potential visitors from and a one-stop-resource for those looking to discover more about the emirate.

“Abu Dhabi has a lot to offer the Brazilian travellers whether they be from the leisure or business travel sectors and with Etihad's connectivity between the two destinations, we see particular potential among the many Brazilians using Abu Dhabi to transit further afield. Brazilians are noted for their length-of-stopover-stay when in long-haul transit which, according to the local trade, can average as much as five nights. It is vital that we align our initiatives to those of our stakeholders and to talk to potential customers in their own language tailored to their very specific needs, said Mouza Al Shamsi, Marketing Director, TCA Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi-bound Brazilians can now rely on www.visitabudhabiae to search for hotels, flights and car rentals and explore the latest attractions, experiences, events, leisure activities and get useful culture and heritage information.

In addition to Portuguese, visitabudhabi.ae is available in English, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, and Mandarin.

Since the launch of its upgraded version last year, www.visitabudhabi.ae has scooped top industry honours including four Silver Awards of Distinction in the 19th Annual Communicator Awards - the international competition honouring communications excellence and was listed among top government portals by the 17th Annual Webby Awards, the yearly honours of The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences.

Additionally, the destination website landed four top honours at the annual ‘Stevie' International Business Awards (IBAs), including Gold for the 'Best Interface Design' and three Silver wins for 'Hospitality & Leisure', 'Best Writing/Content' and 'Best Overall Web Design'. The site's dedicated Facebook page, which counts over a quarter of a million fans, took a Bronze Award for 'Best Facebook Fanpage.'

Selected by more than 250 worldwide executives who participated in the judging process, the IBA's ranked www.visitabudhabi.ae alongside top world brands such as: P&G; Cisco; Atlantis, Dubai; Accenture, USA; Foxtons, UK; and Siemens.
