Dubai Health Authority and National Training (Jaheziya) Sign MoU to Update and Enhance Emergency and Health Crisis Management System in Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 3, 2024: The Dubai Health Authority ( DHA) has bolstered its efforts in updating the emergency, crisis, and health disaster management system, the DHA has recently signed a  memorandum of understanding( MoU)  with National Training ( Jaheziya) to prepare and train medical and specialised personnel, enhance their capabilities and efficiency to handle emergencies, disasters, and health crises according to international standards and protocols.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Khaled Abdullah Lootah, Public Health Consultant and Director of the Disaster and Crisis Centre at the Dubai Health Authority, and Dr. Adel Al Shamry Al Ajami, CEO of the UAE Readiness and Medical Response Program  and Director-General of the National Training ( Jaheziya)

The memorandum outlines expanding cooperation between the parties regarding the implementation of training plans to qualify individuals and medical institutions in the healthcare sector (government and private) based on the training needs and requirements approved by the Authority, using the best and latest global methods and approaches in safety, emergency preparedness, crisis management, and health disaster areas.

Dubai Health Authority and the National Training (Jaheziya)  extended their cooperation to include launching advanced training programs across Dubai, focusing on emergency preparedness and crisis management in alignment with each entity’s legislation, procedures, and current systems.

Furthermore, the MoU allows for organising scientific seminars, joint workshops, specialised activities, and events in the field of emergency preparedness and crisis management. It also involves providing necessary training, technical, and logistical services to support Dubai Health Authority's vital efforts in this area.

Under the MoU, National Training (Jaheziya)  will provide access to a fully equipped field hospital to conduct simulated exercises and training programmes.

During the signing of the memorandum, Dr. Khaled Lootah emphasised that the collaboration between Dubai Health Authority and the National Training  will create numerous enhanced opportunities to further advance the field of emergency, crisis, and health disaster management and will help prepare, train, and empower individuals to handle any medical situations.

The Dubai Health Authority expressed appreciation for the fruitful cooperation and strategic partnership with National Training (Jaheziya)  , acknowledging it as a significant and leading company in its field. The company's capabilities and resources will have a wide positive impact in the preparation and training operations for medical and specialised personnel in the healthcare sector (governmental and private institutions and facilities).

Dr. Adel Al Shamry Al Ajami, CEO of the UAE Readiness and Medical Response Program  and Director-General of the National Training ( Jaheziya) stated: 'We are delighted to launch this educational and research agreement with the Dubai Health Authority to enhance growth and progress in Dubai's healthcare sector. By joining forces with the Dubai Health Authority, National Training (Jaheziya) will contribute to improving the capabilities of healthcare providers in the long term, which will have a positive impact on society.'

He added, 'The agreement includes providing educational consultations and various services to the beneficiaries. Additionally,  it includes facilitating trainee placements in suitable positions and, once training is initiated, healthcare providers will be able to apply what they learned in real-life situations, leading to better outcomes following a standardised and internationally accredited approach.'

In the realm of research and collaboration efforts, Dubai Health Authority and the National Training (Jaheziya)  will begin knowledge exchange in both clinical and non-clinical fields. The parties will also focus on improving services and implementing workshops on research methodologies. Several innovation-related projects in healthcare will be launched.

Both Dubai Health Authority and the National Training (Jaheziya)  will continue to explore new opportunities for collaboration in academic and research fields. Due to their commitment to an innovative and progressive approach, the agreement is expected to contribute to talent development in the country and enhance the excellence of the healthcare sector in the region.

Acknowledging Dubai Health Authority's efforts and leadership in developing human resources in the healthcare sector for medical emergency response, disasters, and crises, the agreement is anticipated to nurture and enhance a base of scientifically and practically qualified and trained medical professionals.
