Dubai, UAE, December 7, 2016:  Quadruple amputee Corinne Hutton, the founder of the charity, Finding Your Feet, is looking to round up a team of 92 cyclists to join her and Gold-winning Paralympian, Jon-Allan Butterworth and rugby legend Peter Winterbottom (England and British & Irish Lions) to participate in the Spinney’s 92km cycle challenge in Dubai.

The Finding Your Feet team, named, The Prosthetic Pedallers, will be raising money locally for the Al Jalila Foundation, which supports medical research and education and recently opened the Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital in Dubai.  Almost 40 fundraisers have already signed up for the Challenge which is on December 16 and we need you!

Joining Corinne, Jon-Allan and Peter in Dubai will be footballer Taz (17), a full leg amputee since infancy; swimmer Hope (21) an amputee only since July 2016; footballer Nikki (27) who lost her lower leg to cancer in 2015; and footballer and tennis-coach Becca (24) who lost her lower leg as an infant.  Jon-Allan lost an arm in a rocket attack while serving with the RAF.

Commenting Corinne Hutton, says: “We would love to have a team of 92 cyclists join us in Dubai.  We have an awe-inspiring team of amputees, as well as able-bodied supporters and fundraisers, including many from Dubai. I have a very strong connection to Dubai as my brother Scott is based there and I have received so much love and support from his friends and from the community generally.  I got my first set of new legs in Dubai and my prosthetist, Charl Stenger was incredible and really helped me to adjust to life as an amputee and to push myself forward.

“Cycling 92km is a huge challenge for experienced and able-bodied cyclists so for those who have lost limbs to take on this event is phenomenal. Any cyclist out there will appreciate that the bigger our group on the day, the better the chance of all of our amputees completing the challenge.  I am confident theProsthetic Pedallers will have a fantastic time taking part in the event and raising much needed funds.

“We are delighted to support the Al Jalila Foundation with this event as the work they are doing with kids, in particular, is fantastic.”
