This fictitious idea of Paradise.” Bright neon colors, graphic animal prints and military influences create the cornerstone of the Marc Jacobs Resort 2017 collection. Starting with a base color pallete of black and white, the muted color accents from the Fall collection were amped up, now with fluorescent pinks and blues. Prints have a key role, with bold animal prints patched together with geometric stripes and checks. Heavy embellishment and embroidery, two classic Marc Jacobs elements, are featured on acid washed denim jackets, leather coats and iconic sweatshirts featuring a sequin MTV logo. Paradise themed details, including rainbows, flamingos, stars and palm trees are seen in both pave charms and patches on military inspired coats. Sheer tulle a-line skirts are shown in bright pink and yellow patchwork as well as in a white corseted cocktail dress embroidered with sequin flowers and bows. A playful take on volume continues from Fall, now seen in ruffled sleeves on black and white prairie dresses and the oversized shoulders of animal printed fur coats. Ornate platform sandals, studded cowboy boots and knee-high boots in python, metallic leather and leopard print compliment the strong ready to wear offering. Handbags continue to be a focus, with printed patchwork shoulder bags with metal hardware chains and embellished backpacks providing the perfect finish to the Marc Jacobs Resort 2017 look.
