This new co-branded capsule pays tribute to René Lacoste, five times singles and doubles winner of the tournament, and celebrates the timeless elegance of the tennis champions of the 1920s. Imbued with a subtly retro spirit, this collection combines the iconic LACOSTE petit piqué with jersey in navy, white, grey and turquoise blue colours for graphic, functional and comfortable looks. Inspired by the white lines of a tennis court, the graphics are powerful: Roland Garros, LACOSTE and the tournament trophy, and the maxims “L’essentiel est que demeure le fair-play” or “Silence s’il vous plaît” are written in full on a pin-striped background. MEN The male looks in this collection are refined and chic. The functional details such as the zip flap with a contrasting fused strip or turquoise mesh lining decorate a white polo shirt or contrast with the navy blue of a light windcheater. René Lacoste’s silhouette can be seen on a navy sweatshirt marked “Silence s’il vous plaît” or on a white tee-shirt, while a navy polo shirt with a white edging on the collar and sleeves proudly displays the tournament trophy. This male wardrobe is complemented by a grey and white striped polo shirt and tee-shirt, a white tee-shirt marked “L’essentiel est que demeure le fair-play” and a navy blue cap. WOMEN The star garment in this female collection is indisputably the heather grey fleece sweatshirt inscribed with the words “Silence s’il vous plaît”. A navy tee-shirt printed with the words “Roland Garros LACOSTE” on which the silhouette of Suzanne Lenglen can be seen, a navy polo shirt with white edging, a grey and white striped sleeveless polo shirt, a turquoise and white striped tee-shirt and a navy and white striped polo dress all proudly display the Musketeers’ trophy and embody the spirit and elegance so characteristic of this famous tournament. LEATHER GOODS The Roland Garros leather goods line uses the same codes and tones as the ready-to-wear collection. It includes a shopping bag and a wallet in turquoise blue coated canvas with an XXL “petit piqué” effect carrying the crocodile and the tournament logo. A badge marked with René Lacoste’s celebrated maxim “L’Essentiel est que demeure le fair-play” decorates the handle of the shopping bag. The co-branded collection will be available in LACOSTE stores from the 15th of May 2016 and will be sold at Roland Garros during the tournament.
