Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - 19 January, 2016: The UAE Space Agency announced today its participation at the Bahrain International Airshow, which is being held at the Sakhir Airbase, Kingdom of Bahrain, from 21-23 January 2016. Through a joint pavilion with the Bahraini National Space Science Agency, the UAE Space Agency participation will aim to highlight the milestones it has achieved since its inception and existing and future plans, especially the 'Hope Probe', which will be the first probe of its kind to study climate on Mars. The UAE Space Agency will interact with different regional and international stakeholders as the entity responsible for development of the space sector in the UAE, with the aim to strengthen mutual cooperation, knowledge and expertise sharing, as well as latest findings in global space technology that will reflect on future projects. HE Dr Khalifa Al Romaithi, Chairman of the UAE Space Agency, said: “The UAE Space Agency’s participation at the Bahrain International Airshow will contribute to shedding light on the key millstones it has reached since it was established , a moment that marked the UAE entering international space exploration. It will also highlight the recognition it has received from different international space agencies and organisations in this field.” HE Dr Mohamed Nasser Al Ahbabi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency said: “the Bahrain International Airshow is one of the prominent regional and international exhibitions. Therefore, it is a chance to witness the latest developments related to the Agency’s work to meet its strategic and target objectives. The agency will benefit from the exhibition as a platform the reaffirm the leading role it plays on a regional and international level.”
