Intex - India's fastest growing mobile handset company

Dubai UAE, December 22, 2015:  India’s fastest growing mobile handset company, Intex, has raced past competition to become the No 1 Indian handset maker in the country. As per Cybex Exim reports of last 3 months, Intex has outperformed all other players in import shipments and local manufacturing (combined).

This turnaround came on back of strong sales especially in the sub 5k segment, where Intex is the leader, coupled with an impressive performance in the 5k-10k range of smartphones.

The performance is significant as India is the fastest growing smartphone market in the world and is set to become the 2nd largest smartphone market of the world by 2017. China and US currently are the world’s top smartphone market, but analysts say it is India which will continue to grow in double digits for the next few years. China, US and India contribute 50% of total smartphone sales in the world.

Intex, becoming the fastest growing smartphone company in India and surpassing almost 40+ global and Indian brands present in the market is a feat above ordinary and comes as a result of solid fundamentals and customer centric approach. Most of the players in the Indian mobile scene do stand on strong footing when it comes to after sales support, but Intex has a strong service support network of more than 1100 service touchpoints across the country. Intex products are also available in every nook and corner of the country through a strong distribution channel of 1100+ distributors and over 1,00,000 retailers.

Intex has a strong presence in the e-commerce space also with strategic tie-ups with major online retailers. Intex has launched the most number of models in the first half of 2015 outdoing all its rivals. The thought behind such aggressive new models launch is to cater to every type and every need of the customer.

Intex has also become the first Indian company to launch an android based smartwatch -‘iRist’ at the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai (China) in July 2015. With the advent of 4G services, Intex has launched a slew of 4G handsets and has an aggressive line up in this category in the festive season.

Intex is also the only company in India currently to have a celebrity national brand ambassador in Farhan Akhtar, complemented by regional superstars like Mahesh Babu for Telengana & Andhra Pradesh, Sudeep for Karnataka and Surya for Tamilnadu.

It appears that Intex has done everything right to come up to this position - good products, strong distribution and service and aggressive marketing to connect with audience.

After domination in Indian market, Intex is now eyeing global markets.
