Sandstorm in UAE results in field day for car wash companies across the country
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 8, 2015: Over the course of the weekend, after the sandstorm blew across the UAE, commuters were queued for several hours at car wash stations to get their cars cleaned. Approximately, 1300 cars per hour were present across the car wash stations in Dubai. The booming sales of automobiles in the region have led to growth in the car care industry, especially since there are strict hygiene regulations for the UAE capital drivers. Car owners have been warned to take their vehicles to a professional car wash or clean their vehicle in an industrial area. In 2014, the Middle East was ranked one of the fastest growing automobile markets in the world. According to recent findings, car sales growth in the US has risen by 4.6 per cent, eight per cent in the UK and 10 per cent in India. Meanwhile, UAE car sales growth touched a double digit figure (13 per cent) in the 2014. The car care market has immense potential to grow. There are many small and medium companies that provide products and solutions. After the sandstorm that occurred last week, car washes agencies across the region have been busy. On an average, each fuel station car wash witnessed no less than 20 automobiles, awaiting their turn. As per the Frost & Sullivan industry report, Saudi Arabia leads the GCC market with 7.55 million vehicles on the road, followed by UAE with 2.94 million and Kuwait with 1.38 million vehicles. There is thriving business for leading car care and car wash owners, operators, car wash equipment manufacturers and suppliers. “The car care market is still in its nascent stages in UAE, with a lot of potential for growth and collaboration amongst industry players.
