Dubai, UAE, 29 January 2014: du today honoured the top five winners among 20 finalists of its #Narzif competition, by handing over cash prizes of AED 20,000 to each winner at a glittering ceremony held at the Waldorf Astoria, Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, was recognised during the ceremony for his support of the #Narzif competition, through a special token of thanks received by Rashid Khalfan Al Balooshi, Head of Applications and Data in the Office of H.H. The Crown Prince of Dubai, on behalf of His Highness.  

This year, du brought together people from multiple nationalities, including Emiratis, by releasing a special video called #Narzif in celebration of the UAE’s 43rd National Day. The telecom company encouraged UAE residents to create their own videos and visual interpretations of #Narzif for the chance to win an AED 20,000 prize. More than 11,000 participants submitted entries to the competition.

The top five winners of the contest are Fatmah Yousif Saeed Almatlaei Al Yammahi, Farah Humaid Musabeh M Alfard Al Ali, Rashed Salem Abdulla Almestrih Al Nuaimi and Amara AlSalama. #Narzif is available on du’s YouTube channel, and featuring the song ‘Narzif’, specially written by poet and TV personality Saoud Al Kaabi with music composed by Khalid Nasser and Sang by Faisal Al Jassim, to which the traditional Razfa dance is choreographed. In addition to being filmed at renowned UAE landmarks, some shots were filmed in the UK and US in front of landmark spots such as Buckingham Palace, and the Hollywood sign. Several social media influencers and celebrities participated in the video, including Saoud Al Kaabi, Wonho Chung, Diala, Max of Arabia, Karen, Ali Al Jasmi, Mthayel Al Ali, Sherif Fayed, Fahood Taymour, Hamoodi Bambi and Rashid.
