Participants in Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Leadership Program view the innovative products of Etihad Airways Ajman, UAE, 10th November 2014 Participants in the second edition of the Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Leadership Program (ALP), the first-of-its-kind program that aims to empower talented young individuals with essential leadership qualities, visited the Etihad Innovation Training Academy in Abu Dhabi to learn about the latest cutting-edge technologies and innovative products Etihad Airways is applying on its fleet of aircrafts. Accompanied by a number of officials from Etihad Airways, participants toured the academy’s various departments and facilities, where they listened to a detailed presentation about the innovative components of the Abu Dhabi International Airport’s iconic new terminal, scheduled for its official opening in 2017, and the new services Etihad Airways plans to add in the future through its fleet of aircrafts. Participants listened to a presentation about Etihad Airways, its proven track record of achievements since its inception in 2003, and its position as one of the world's leading premium airline brands, across a span of 12 years. Speaking on the occasion, Faisal Al Nuaimi, Head of the Committee at the ALP, said: “We are constantly striving to familiarize participants in the Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Leadership Program with innovative concepts through applicable models and practical examples. We also wanted to give them an opportunity to learn about the various methods of strategic planning operations and activities and how to apply this planning in the future. We have been keen through the 2ndtraining program of the ALP to take participants on a field visit to Etihad Innovation Training Academy in Abu Dhabi, where they can learn from a superior level of excellence and high quality products that meet the needs of customers and keep pace with developments in the aviation industry. Participants also learned about the importance of the culture of innovation and creativity for leadership in all areas and disciplines. Etihad Airways also lended its support to the ALP’s 2nd program by providing the program’s GCC participants with return flights to Abu Dhabi. Participants in The Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Leadership Program receive in-depth training in key areas of leadership in a carefully designed programme consisting of six distinct modules comprising both class room and experience-based instruction which is complemented with special input sessions on emotional intelligence and, to prepare candidates for a rapidly evolving world, the leadership requirements of social media. The course programme includes the Class Room module, which focuses on six core competencies - Organizational Behaviour & Sustainable Excellence, Strategic Management, Performance Management, Personal Development & Financial Planning, Change Management, and Emotional Intelligence - as well as modules on Health & Nutrition, Etiquette & Protocol, Coaching & Mentoring, Media Coaching and Experiential Learning.
