Donation to Cover Costs of Building and Equipping Villa Named After Rafee Dubai-UAE: 12 October, 2014 - The family of the late Abd Alsalam Rafee has donated AED3 million to cover the costs of building and equipping a complete villa in the Family Village project, the first waqf village in Dubai and one of the pioneering projects of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF). A cheque of the total donation was delivered during a visit by Mohammad Abd Alsalam Rafee and Fahd Abd Alsalam Rafee to AMAF’s headquarters. They were welcomed by His Excellency Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, His Excellency Khaled Al Thani, Deputy Secretary General of AMAF, Ahmad Abu Shehab, Director of Waqf Development, and Mohammad Alkamzari, Head of Public Relations and Marketing at AMAF. Mohammad Abd Alsalam Rafee said: “As an Emirati citizen, I am proud of the Family Village project that is expected to play a vital role in welcoming orphans and providing a realistic and balanced home environment where all their basic needs are available. I particularly commend AMAF for its role in facilitating a charitable initiative of this caliber for the marginalized members of our community.” Commenting on the generous contribution, His Excellency Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, said: “We thank Mohammad Abd Alsalam Rafee for recognizing AMAF’s efforts in shaping a project such as the Family Village. We will allocate this valuable contribution to cover the costs of building a complete villa that will be named after the late Abd Alsalam Rafee. We hope such exemplary contributions will encourage businesses and entrepreneurs in the country to support charity projects.”
