- UAE artist takes his popular Oud Fusion concept to Monte-Carlo Beach Club, Saadiyat on 16th April 2014 Abu Dhabi, UAE, 07 April 2014: After performing at international jazz festivals in Europe and the Middle East, Kamal Musallam brings his mellow beats to Monte-Carlo Beach Club, Saadiyat’s Sea Lounge on April 16th for an evening of world-class Arabic fusion music. Having wowed global audiences with his signature Arab-rock blend, Musallam will return to Sea Lounge with his three-piece band, following his debut at Monte-Carlo Beach Club, Saadiyat for their jazz night last February. Skilled on the electric Godin Multi-Oud, Musallam will strum tracks off his hit albums, ‘On a Jordan River’s Side’, ‘Out of my City’ and ‘Lulu’. “It is always a big challenge but a pleasure for me to test my music in a new venue and for a new crowd,” says Kamal. “I had the chance to perform on two different occasions at Monte-Carlo Beach Club, Saadiyat and both times we had a wonderful crowd and venue experience. This time we are fusing it all with some great Arabic and Oud sounds, keeping it rooted with Funk Jazz and Latin Jazz rhythms. We look forward to a great musical adventure on April 16.” Originally from Jordan, Musallam’s music pays homage to his Arabic roots, whilst taking influence from his travels throughout Europe and his lifelong love for Jazz heroes Miles Davis, George Benson and John McLaughlin. Musallam’s upcoming appearance at Sea Lounge highlights Monte-Carlo Beach Club, Saadiyat’s continued commitment to bringing live music to Abu Dhabi, with a number of acts gracing the stunning beach club over the previous few months. With a regular Jazz night now established on the first Wednesday of each month and live music at the club every Saturday as part of the Spanish-themed Puesta Del Sol, Monte-Carlo Beach Club is establishing itself as the go-to venue in the capital’s growing live music scene.
