300 Artists Celebrate World Art Day at Mohammed Bin Rashid Library

Dubai, UAE, 16 April 2026: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library organised a special event to celebrate World Art Day, bringing together more than 300 artists of diverse backgrounds, representing over 10 Arab and international nationalities. The initiative underscores the Library’s ongoing efforts to promote art and enrich the local cultural landscape.

The event aligns with the Library’s commitment to× supporting creative industries and providing platforms for artists to showcase their work and engage with the wider community. It also reflects the Library’s role as a leading cultural institution contributing to the development of a vibrant creative ecosystem in Dubai and the UAE.

As part of the programme, the Library hosted a workshop titled “Between Colour and Idea,” organised in collaboration with Crazy Art Center. The session explored the fundamentals of drawing, focusing on developing participants’ ability to transform ideas into visual expressions through guided, hands-on practice under the supervision of experienced artists.

The event also featured the “Painting in Open Spaces” activity, held in the Library’s garden, where artists created live artworks in front of an audience. This interactive experience fostered direct engagement between artists and visitors, offering attendees a unique opportunity to observe the creative process in real time.

In support of the visual arts, the Library hosted an accompanying exhibition featuring the works of more than 100 artists, running for one week. The exhibition showcases a wide range of artistic styles, from contemporary to classical, reflecting the richness and diversity of creative perspectives among participants.

Organising this event is in line with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library’s mission to promote visual culture, support artistic talent, and provide an inspiring environment for creativity. These efforts contribute to building a knowledge-based society rooted in innovation and cultural openness.

The event witnessed strong attendance from the public, art enthusiasts, and artists, with attendees praising the diversity and quality of the programme. They highlighted the importance of such initiatives in supporting artists and providing opportunities to present their work to a broad and diverse audience.
