Dubai, United Arab Emirates - 29, August 2019: UAE Team Emirates heads to France with a well-rounded squad to tackle the rolling terrain of the World Tour Classic Bretagne-Ouest France (September 1), in a race which is likely to favour the sprinters. After leaving Plouay, the riders will travel a total of 248.1kms, including a 13.9km circuit in the closing quarter of the race. The route features two dirt tracks in the central part of the course, and packs in nearly 4,000m of climbing. Australian sports directors Allan Peiper and Neil Stephens will oversee a seven man squad that consists of: - Tom Bohli (Sui) - Sven Erik Bystrøm (Nor) - Manuele Mori (Ita) - Simone Petilli (Ita) - Jasper Philipsen (Bel) - Jan Polanc (Slo) - Rory Sutherland (Aus) Manuele Mori has made the top 10 of the race three times, including a third place finish in 2006, and although the race route has changed since then, he is confident of a strong team performance. Mori commented: “In the years that I obtained top ten placings, the route included several extra laps of the circuit, so it was even more intense and selective. It has changed several times since then, and now offers a better opportunity for the sprinters. Often the weather conditions can be tough but it should definitely be a race that suits a rider like Jasper Philipsen”.
