UAE Team Emirates in Dordogne After First Rest Day
Peloton rides through Dordogne during stage ten after first rest day of the Tour de France
12 July 2017, United Arab Emirates: After an exciting first part of Le Tour, stage ten began and ended in the Dordogne region of France, with the General Classification standings broadly the same as stage nine. UAE Team Emirates’ Louis Meintjes retained 11th place in the overall GC whilst second in the Youth Classification. The stage was won by a sprint to the line by Marcel Kittel (Quick – Step Floors) with Chris Froome (Team Sky) retaining the Yellow Jersey.
Following their first rest day UAE Team Emirates will now tackle the last of the flat stages before the peloton reaches Paris. Stage 11 is best suited for sprinters and those looking to gain seconds on rival contenders. The 203.5km flat between Eymet and Pau will likely see aggressive attacks from the off and we could be in store for a thrilling sprint finish.
