Four days of Glamour & Fame Come to an End at Yas Mall Fashion Week Finale

Dubai, UAE, October 15, 2016:  Abu Dhabi lived four days of glam, glitz and fame with Yas Mall Fashion Week, attended by fashionistas, VIPs and guests from all over the UAE, who enjoyed an incredible fashion experience starting with an inspirational talk by Lebanese fashion designer Reem Acra, top daily fashion shows, an exclusive performance by Ragheb Alameh, followed by a lavish Gala event at Yas Viceroy Hotel.

The four days of Yas Mall Fashion Week were marked by a number of international debuts highlighted by the inaugural and extravagant show by luxury emporium Tryano. Next, a classic fall runway by Ted Baker reflected the latest trends for both men and women. Finally, combining an extensively rich array of dresses designed by artists from around the world, Esposa wowed crowds with its offering of couture gowns that were truly works of art. 

The second day kicked off in style with the latest evening wear styles of the iconic brand, House of Fraser, followed by Hoss Intropia, which presented its latest ethereal female collection of clothes, accessories and footwear. French brand, Maje, concluded the show with its edgy collections of darker colours and A-line cuts but stayed true to its Parisian boho look with its lace detailing and embroidery.

Shows from female brands Bebe and BCBG fused bright colours with precious metals to bring a sense of glamour, whilst the Debenhams collection featured trophy pieces for both men and women. For the finale of Yas Mall Fashion Week, the catwalks featured the luxurious and ready-to-wear couture collections of Karen Millen, Weill and Esposa, ending the week in pure style.  

This amazing latest seasonal fashion collection runway concluded yesterday with a grand finale, as gorgeous international models entertained crowds of families and fashionistas by rocking the catwalk wearing Autumn/Winter-inspired looks from an array of retailers, including Esposa, Karen Millen, BCBG, Weill, Debenhams and Bebe. 

To engage with visitors, Yas Mall Fashion Week also featured beauty stations as hair and make-up stylists recreated the red-carpet looks or gave guests requested make-overs. Throughout the catwalk shows there were also competitions in which lucky winner were gifted shopping vouchers, whilst the catwalk collections were available to purchase in-store. 

Before that, Yas Mall Fashion Week brought fun, luxury, and glamour to Abu Dhabi. One of the biggest winners of the four-day event was Emirati designer Shamsa Saeed Khalaf Al Mazroui, who won the Aspiring Designer Competition, chosen by Reem Acra herself. Shamsa was awarded a trip and ticket to New York Fashion Week from Etihad Airways, an exclusive photoshoot of her collection by an ITP publication, as well as the opportunity to display her work at luxury department store, Tryano store within Yas Mall.

It was a magical moment and I’m truly proud of the work that I’ve done. I’m so excited to be heading to New York Fashion Week, one of the top fashion destinations of the world. I would also like to thank Reem Acra for inspiring me through her elegant taste and for giving me the chance to get my foot into this ever-evolving fashion industry.”

Trophies were also awarded to the first runner-up Arshia Khan and second runner-up, Katerina Nechyporenjo, chosen by Reem Acra from a shortlist of ten designers.
