Fall-Winter 2016 Dubai, UAE, October 10, 2016: With the Winter 2016 Collection the WEILL Woman is Full of Cheer and Sparkle. She favours neutral monochromes, subtle tones and simple fluid forms. Knitwear is present more than ever in answer to her penchant for comfort and seduction as well as to her fondness for sophisticated textures, and tweed in particular. A tweed revisited in new forms such as woollen fabrics, jerseys and knitwear, this season interwoven with leather and touches of lace producing daring, imaginative combinations of jacquard and print motifs as well as a delicately extravagant assemblage of flowers, cashmere and leather or pelt motifs. Artistic director Edward Achour has delved into the archives of the fashion house to revisit them in his search for an ever more contemporary and Parisian brand of charm. The new Weill chic consists of casually styled sophisticated shapes in comfortable fabrics and exclusive materials. A cross between “Couture off-the-peg” and “Ready-to-wear Couture”. Mini mink pompoms provide a touch of humour to the retro-style tweed and a certain cachet to the simple knitwear. Knots conceal the buttons of a brocade coat dress. Outrageously ample fur sleeves provide a touch of glamorous nonchalance to a coat. White poplin blouses with unexpected volumes and oversized parkas in sublime shantung or cashmere. These are just a few examples of the Weill collection’s new offerings. For the day, neutral monochrome tones with subtle associations of grey and camel. For the evening black takes over, subtly allied with chiffon, satin and other shimmering effects. A new palette of delicate vibrant colours is needed. Touches of red ranging from coral to Burgundy red. Spicy tones: curry, cinnamon and saffron. All of these are combined with pastel hues thus producing a resolutely contemporary harmony. Silhouettes are meticulously designed to give pride of place to jewellery. Copper toned knots, chains in golden and opalescent scales complete hazy silhouettes while series of knitted felt pearls neatly placed on textured garments offer a dazzling effect. This collection is composed like a puzzle. A glorious mix-and-match renewing the Weill woman’s wardrobe. Allowing her to compose her own look, 'à la carte', depending on her moods and whims.
