A family hospital is offering a calendar of free of charge events aimed at keeping people ‘out’ of hospital during the Holy Month.

Abu Dhabi, UAE, June 13, 2016:   With the number of admissions expected to rise during the fasting period, specialists from Medeor 24x7 Multi Speciality Family Hospital in Abu Dhabi have organised a series of health campaigns, lectures and activities to help educate families on how to stay healthy as well as ease any discomfort they may feel while observing fast this Ramadan.

The events, which all take place at the hospital throughout June, aim to provide a variety of tailored health tips and consultations to ensure Peace, Patience, Prosperity 24x7 for UAE residents and expatriates during the holy month.

Medeor 24x7 Hospital Abu Dhabi will host a Gastroenterology campaign from 12 to 16th June 2016, on what and how to eat during the non-fasting windows, specifically recognising the importance of nutrition and selecting the right types of food to sustain a normal life while fasting to help alleviate pressure build-up.
Another series of events being run by the Department of Internal Medicine from 19th to 23rd June will see free consultations aimed at managing the burden of lifestyle diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Allergies, etc. These will be particularly beneficial to those suffering from High Blood Pressure and/or cholesterol patients, as well as those affected by Diabetes.

Understanding the importance of the young ones who fast during Ramadan, the Hospital’s Paediatric services will also conduct a week-long campaign from 27th to 30th June 2016. The campaign will aim to minimise the effect that fasting often brings to the children’s normal energetic lifestyle and mental and physical behaviour.

Pieter Slabberts, CEO, Medeor 24x7 Hospital Abu Dhabi added: “To help parents stay abreast of and monitor their child’s health during Ramadan, we will also be arranging a host of informative talk sessions, aimed at easing their fasting efforts.

“The sessions will be open to the community and the discussions by specialists will cover specific conditions such as Weight Program Training, Diabetes, Autism and Asthma in children.”

In addition to the in-house campaigns, and in line with the spirit of the season, the hospital will also run a series of activities and events across different locations engaging families in fun-filled activities, and offer dedicated healthy eating tips as well as other interactive activities.

To avail the free consultations at any of the Medeor 24x7 Hospital locations in Abu Dhabi, Yas Mall and Al Ain, or for any other inquiries, please call 800-900-600. May this religious and spiritual time usher a new beginning of peace, patience and prosperity 24x7.
