Dubai — October 25, 2015 —To celebrate the Tory Burch Fall collection, Vogue Italia produced an editorial short film, starring model, actress and philanthropist Elisa Sednaoui and directed by London-based filmmaker Boldizsár CR. The trailer will launch on Vogue.it on October 7 with the film following on October 9. Set in Venice, the film, entitled THE PAINTING, captures Europe’s timeless glamour, while avant-garde cinematic elements add a surreal quality. It opens with Sednaoui lounging around a grand palazzo on the Venetian Lagoon. While on the balcony, she stumbles upon a bouquet of peonies and a mysterious note that reads: “The painting is ready.” She ventures out, through a courtyard, narrow alleyways and over a bridge, to an empty, light-filled artist studio where she unveils the masterpiece. Throughout the film, Sednaoui wears pieces from Tory Burch’s new Fall collection - a chiffon dress, a jacquard sweater and coat and mikado pants - that feature bold tapestry patterns in a rich, winter-red palette as well as a long, white caftan with embellished trim. The collection was inspired by Marrakech meets Chelsea and the London bohemia period in the late Sixties; it includes beautifully crafted embellishments, a mix of textures and artfully engineered patterns that reference Morocco’s intricate textile designs. Sednaoui, who is of Italian, French and Egyptian descent, has appeared in global advertising campaigns for Chanel, Armani and Cavalli as well as six feature films, including Les Gamins. She recently hosted the Venice Film Festival’s opening and closing events. With her chic, effortless style and mesmerizing beauty, Sednaoui brings the collection to life. Sednaoui said: “I truly enjoyed embarking on the adventure the director, Boldiszar, the Vogue Italia team and Tory Burch so subtly imagined. To dream for a second to be actually living in a surreal Venice…When I think of Tory Burch, I think of feminine sensitivity with lots of confidence.
