Dubai-UAE: 22 April, 2015 - KEF Holdings, a UAE-based multinational holding company that specializes in off-site construction technology, has been shortlisted for the 2015 Responsible Business Awards run by Business in the Community, a UK-based business led charity organization. The Responsible Business Awards is the most prestigious and credible industry recognition championing responsible business in the UK and abroad. The award celebrates inspirational companies that are taking action to address social and environmental issues and transform their communities – from investing in the wellbeing of employees to helping young people develop skills or supporting small businesses to grow. 145 companies have been shortlisted in total across the UK, across the 13 award categories. The announcement of the 2015 Responsible Business Awards shortlist coincides with Responsible Business Week (20-26 April 2015), an annual initiative seeking to increase awareness of the positive contribution of business in society. KEF Holdings was recognized for its PRISM (Promoting Regional Schools to International Standards through Multiple Interventions) initiative. The flagship program upgraded and rebuilt a 120-year old school- Govt Vocational Higher Secondary School, Nadakkavu, in Calicut-which is today being acknowledged as a path-breaking initiative by the Responsible Business Awards. The firm is one of the twelve shortlisted entities contesting for the honour. Faizal E Kottikollon, Founder and Chairman, KEF Holdings, said: “We are proud to make the shortlist for the Responsible Business Awards 2015. As a socially conscious business today that is keen to contribute and make a difference to the community, we are relentless in our efforts to loosen the shackles of a stratified society. For us, PRISM provided a unique opportunity to end poverty while also promoting social inclusion and securing the future for generations to come.” Kottikollon added: “There is an age-old Indian belief that to have a better future, you need to invest today. Education that transforms the lives of underpriviledged children is the biggest investment in the future we can possibly make today. KEF Holdings has made a concerted effort to bring educational excellence to society’s underprivileged children by offering state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities.” Stephen Howard, Chief Executive, Business in the Community said: “The Responsible Business Awards celebrate the very best of business, so it is fitting to be announcing the shortlist today as part of Responsible Business Week, which raises awareness of business as a powerful force for good. We congratulate KEF Holdings for playing its part in creating a fairer society and more sustainable future. The shortlisted businesses publically demonstrate that business has a greater purpose then simply generating profit and are a great example to others.” All shortlisted companies will be celebrated through a series of Responsible Business gala events taking place across the UK in June. Of the shortlisted companies, a number will be chosen as Award Finalists to present their program to a select group of senior business professionals in May for the chance to be crowned as overall winner in each category. The award finalists will be announced on June 2, 2015. Overall winners will be announced in London at Business in the Community’s Annual Responsible Business Gala Dinner, in partnership with 2014 Responsible Business of the Year National Grid, on July 7, 2015.
