Make a funny face! Chuck E. Cheese Oud Metha Funniest Face Challenge

Chuck E. Cheese’s Oud Metha and Rashid Centre for Disabled encourage awareness among young people

Ready? Set. Make a funny face! Chuck E. Cheese, the family entertainment and dining facility that just opened in Oud Metha, is teaming up with the Rashid Centre for Disabled to make giving back fun.

Kids across United Arab Emirates are helping each other out in the Chuck E. Cheese Funniest Face Challenge by putting on their best funny face expressions that can compete with Chuck E. Cheese and his goofy friends. The variety of results is endless, since every person out there looks different from each other and it’s not that hard to roll your eyes, stick out your tongue and mug for the camera. After that, all it takes is a few clicks to upload a photo of the funny face to Chuck E. Cheese UAE Instagram, Twitter and Facebook using hashtags #ChuckECheeseUAE and #FunnyFaceUAE. The free-spirited kids at the Rashid Centre for Disabled are also participating and were pumped to see Chuck E. and the family when they visited today. The spotlight was on each of the kids and their creativity as the team pumped up the energy at the centre and children put on their own characters for the camera one-by-one.

Young people have the most imagination, so don’t be surprised when the ChuckECheeseUAE Funniest Face Challenge reveals a few undercover actors wearing hilarious villain and cartoon character expressions. Once all the submissions are in, it will be time to tally up the best of the best. One lucky kid who puts their best face forward in Chuck E. Cheese’s Funniest Face Challenge could win a full day out to play at Chuck E. Cheese’s Oud Metha and a PS4, while each uploaded photo results in a contribution to the Rashid Centre for Disabled.

The centre currently teaches over 300 students, many of whom come from less privileged backgrounds. Donations are used to improve classrooms, provide stationery to students, and upgrade training and qualifications for staff. “This is the sort of partnership that makes the kids at Rashid Centre smile and enjoy themselves,” said the centre’s general manager Mariam Othman. “The financial aspect will go a long way in developing services and classes, but it’s also just as important for children who are not exposed to special needs students to understand and accept each other.”

Since Chuck E. Cheese’s Oud Metha will only open doors on 20 December, the family of life-size animated characters has kept busy wandering around town introducing themselves to families and kids by putting on live performances, taking photos and staying active and healthy by playing around at Dubai Creek Park. The entertainment centre is set on becoming a positive and nurturing setting for connecting children. “Young people are our future leaders. They need to be compassionate and aware of the difficulties others face,” added Nael Fouad, CEO of Magnolia Group, the food and beverage operator managing Chuck E. Cheese’s Oud Metha. “One of the best ways to bring people from different walks of life together is by spreading awareness about disabilities so that children recognize them as members of our society.” The FunnyFaceUAE. Challenge lets all kids be kids while reminding them that there are many people with diverse appearances out there. And, after all the time parents spend telling kids to sit still and be proper, Chuck E. Cheese Oud Metha knows that no matter what their differences, the one thing kids have in common is that they just want to let loose.
