British Orchard Nursery wins the “Most Woman-Friendly Employer – SME” at the Global Women in Leadership Achievement Awards 2014

Founder and CEO Vandana Gandhi recognized for her outstanding contribution towards empowering women in UAE

19th Nov, 2014, Dubai, UAE………………….British Orchard Nursery has once again raised the bar in quality education, having won innumerable awards , they add yet another feather to their cap by winning the  “Most Woman Friendly Employer” award within the SME category at the prestigious WIL (Women In Leadership) Achievement Awards 2014. The Global Economic Forum recognized the contribution of the Nursery chain towards women empowerment, employee wellbeing and acknowledged Ms. Vandana Gandhi, Founder and CEO of Middle East’s largest and first ISO quality certified Nursery chain for her outstanding contribution towards the cause. Held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Economy, the 16th Global Edition of the WIL Economic Forum focused on making change happen by uniting 300 global influential business and thought leaders to discuss key issues on women in leadership.


The awards were presented to the women achievers today at a ceremony during the 16th Global Edition of the WIL Economic Forum taking place on 19th & 20th Nov at Meydan Hotel, Dubai. The Women in Leadership (WIL) Forum is a dynamic annual event that celebrates the industry achievements, innovations and progress of womankind.

Expressing her gratitude, Ms. Vandana Gandhi said, “It’s a proud moment for us at British Orchard Nursery to have won this coveted award, it’s a fabulous initiative and I feel immensely honored to be sharing the platform with great women achievers who have made tremendous strides into all possible fields. It is heartening to lead an all women’s team in this dynamic country which is an absolute delight. I thank the forefathers, the visionary ruler’s, and the government for the conducive working environment and the support and respect it gives to women entrepreneurs. Nothing is impossible in the UAE if you have the right attitude, determination and perseverance”.

The award was presented to Ms. Vandana Gandhi by by His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori - Minister of Economy in the United Arab Emirates and Cherie Blair CBE, QC - Founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women.
