Visit helped forge new collaborations and strengthen synergies across vital sectors of economy Abu Dhabi-UAE: 30 September, 2014 - The UAE delegation led by His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, concluded its successful tour of the US with a final stop-over in Los Angeles, where the visitors attended a special evening hosted by the US-UAE business forum. His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri met with the Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti, and discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries with a focus on enhancing cooperation in crucial sectors such as aviation, logistics, small and medium enterprises and healthcare. The Minister of Economy invited the Mayor and senior business leaders present at the meeting to visit the UAE. The UAE delegation also held talks with representatives of the Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE), an association that brings together on one platform 11 of America's most inspiring and prominent entrepreneurs, as well as the US government. The program aims to leverage the ideas and experiences of successful business professionals for the benefit of the next generation of entrepreneurs. The UAE delegation’s US tour included visits to Washington, DC, Seattle, Palo Alto, San Francisco and Los Angeles. As part of the itinerary, the delegation met with representatives of more than 200 American companies across diverse economic sectors to drive new cooperation and enhance existing synergies between American and Emirati businesses. In particular, the Minister of Economy held talks with Penny Pritzker, Secretary of Commerce, as well as high profile business leaders such as Marillyn Hewson, CEO, Lockheed Martin, and Elon Musk, CEO, SpaceX. The UAE delegation also held talks with officials from the US Chamber of Commerce, US-UAE Business Council, Boeing, and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. The tour included visits to leading technology giants such as the 1776 business incubator, Google and Amazon.
