Scintillating St. Moritz reaches out to their luxury loving audience in their native language

Dubai, UAE – 12 March 2014 – The Engadin Tourism Organisation has launched their Arabic website and Arabic social media pages on Facebook and Twitter. With over 125 million individuals using the Internet in the Arab region and over 53 million actively using social media, the Alpine resort continues to expand its presence and visual perception in the Arab world. Internet usage in the Middle East expected to reach 413 million by 2015 and Engadin St. Moritz is now one step closer to interacting with their luxury loving audience in their native language.

So far, the website on St. Moritz and the Engadin has been available in German, English, French, Italian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Chinese; and as part of the company’s strategy to further reach out to the Arab community around the globe, it is now also available in Modern Standard Arabic.

The Arabic web page is subdivided into a summer site and a winter site, each of which is displayed automatically depending on the season. Offers such as “Mountain railways and cableways included” and “Hotel Ski Pass included” are listed according to the season.

Over the last couple of months, the Engadin St. Moritz destination has been present in Arabic on Facebook and Twitter. The most commonly used languages in social media are English (48%) and Arabic (45%) and with this in mind, each post on the St. Moritz social media pages is written in Standard Arabic and in classical English. Photos of St. Moritz and the whole of the Upper Engadin, current listings on top events, snow, landscapes and other topics are all posted on these platforms.

Engadin St. Moritz displayed a growth of over 10% in visitors from the Middle East during the 2013 summer season and the current winter season is also displaying an increase in guest from the GCC compared to last year. Approaching the end of the winter season and preparing for the summer of 2014, Engadin St. Moritz is now more equipped to welcome visitors from the Middle East.
