 Dubai hotel to host cult classic in live tribute showcasing the hits of the rhythm & blues legends Jake and Elwood Blues The Illinois Blues Brothers, who have performed all over the world and have been deemed as ‘the standard by which other Blues Brothers Acts must be judged' (The Stage), return to Dubai at the Millennium Airport Hotel on Thursday 28th November to regale the band's greatest hits. The hotel will host the live performance, on its recently extended Terrace, which now affords a spacious and eclectic al fresco dining experience. The band will not only enact a combination of musical hits such as ‘Hound Dog' and ‘Flip, Flop & Fly', but will add slapstick comedy, as well as choreographed dancing and a live blues harp. “Sadly the band has left the legendary Bluesmobile behind and there won't be a Chicago nun or an orphan in sight, but this is going to be a real lively and thoroughly entertaining evening – Ray-bans and Fedoras, are optional,” said Simon Moore, General Manager, Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai. Together, having performed around Europe, the Middle East and North Africa with 3 years on-board various cruise ships the twosome has obtained sixteen years of experience. The duo, who style themselves on the original Brothers are recognised both visually and by their vocal similarities. A variety of 1960's soul classics and pop hits will also added to their repertoire taken from artists such as James Brown and Eddie Floyd - both guest performers on the Blues Brothers film, lending the show an authentic edge and evoking fond memories of a cult film classic. The original Blues Brothers were an American blues and rhythm revivalist band founded in the late 1970s and claimed international recognition in 1980 in the John Landis directed film classic, ‘The Blues Brothers' catapulting US comedy stars Dan Aykroyd and James Belushi (playing characters Elwood Blues and Joliet Jake Blues) to international musical stardom and cult heroes.
