Ellucian® is playing a strategic role in supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030 through a new partnership with MEEZA and the upcoming implementation of Banner® by Ellucian at Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU). MEEZA is a Qatar Foundation joint venture that was established to provide essential IT support in close alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

“Ellucian's approved partnership with MEEZA should give confidence to other educational entities in the region of our commitment and ability to deliver the most advanced solutions in support of the Qatar National Vision,” said Mathew Boice, Vice President, EMEA & India, Ellucian. “We are very pleased to be chosen by HBKU to support its special role of offering graduate research  degree programs that will help further the vision of building a knowledge-based society.”

In addition to the Banner administrative system, Ellucian will provide HBKU with related software solutions and implementation, support and training services, and a full-time employee to supplement the resources of the HBKU team. MEEZA will provide the infrastructure set-up, and security, backup, and monitoring services.

The implementation of the Ellucian solutions will help meet the operational needs of HBKU as well as provide best practices for online services. The focus of the first phase of implementation will be on providing the core of student support services such as registration and admissions. In addition, student employment tools will be delivered to create a talent community to connect employers with prospective new employees, and to  give students pre-employment support. During the second phase, a paperless student management environment will be created, and high-value mobile services will be delivered. Both of these applications will help provide ready access to information in support of student success and institutional effectiveness. More than 2,400 institutions in 40 countries around the world look to Ellucian for the ideas and insights that will help move education forward, helping people everywhere discover their futures through learning.
