Pink Skies Dubai Raises Funds for Pink Caravan Dubai, UAE 26th October 2013 – Skydive Dubai organised a fun-filled Pink Skies Dubai Breast Cancer Awareness Day yesterday Friday, October 25th at the Skydive Dubai Desert Campus. They teamed up with The Pink Caravan, part of Friends of Cancer Patients national cancer campaign across the UAE, whose team of experienced doctors have distributed breast cancer awareness materials. H.E. Nasser Al Neyadi, President EAF, Chairman of Skydive Dubai said: “Skydive Dubai supports women and our top priority is to make sure they are well aware of their health. We support Our Pink Skies Dubai initiative aims to raise funds and enable the breast cancer associations to provide throughout their campaign the latest state of the art early screening technology to be accessible for all women in the UAE.” The full day event was packed with adrenaline rush inducing activities which included jumping all day; load organising by MKTM, Nexus, and Asaar Dubai coaches and graffiti artist, KOD, showed his skills in spray painting which later on the artwork was auctioned. “Our team here at Skydive Dubai Desert Campus is honoured to organize a worthy-cause event. We are really glad to host fund-raising activities to aid Pink Caravan Team provide support for patients in the UAE.” said Raul Bocanegra, General Manager at Skydive Dubai Desert Campus. A major component was the raffle draw were great prizes were won. Refreshments were served all day. The highlight of the day was the Pink Caravan booth where the breast cancer awareness leaflets were distributed. Many men and women turned up during the event showing their full support to Pink Skies Dubai where they purchased special Skydive Dubai t-shirts bearing the Pink Skies Dubai logo. They also purchased raffle tickets for AED 100 each. Proceeds from the t-shirt sale and the raffle tickets were given to Pink Caravan. Multiple prizes were won during the raffle draw, which included free coaching days with different coaches of the Skydive Dubai team and a rare ride in the Skydive Dubai gyrocopter. Prizes from the co-sponsors such as 2 Nights stay at Hatta Fort hotel from Jebel Ali Resorts and Hotels and many others were also given away. A total of AED 100,000 cheque has been raised for that day and was given to The Pink Caravan. Skydive Dubai thanked the Red Crescent, the Islamic affair and charitable activities department and its co-sponsors who made the event possible such as Inflight Dubai, Al Maktab for culture and media, JA Resorts and Hotels, Diablo Auto Accessories, Marriot Dubai Harbour , The Burn Room, Ski Dubai, The Yellow Boats, Ibis and Novotel hotels in Dubai.
