Dubai, UAE 21 August 2013 - CEDARS Jebel Ali International Hospital has renamed the Surgical Department in honour of Professor Dr. Guenther Kieninger for his continuous contribution to CEDARS and his professional excellence since he joined in 2004. “Helping people in need has always been my greatest motivation and the driving force behind my work as a surgeon. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing patients recovering and getting back to their normal lives fit and healthy. I am really grateful and pleased to know that my efforts will leave a footprint for the future,” says Prof. Dr. Guenther Kieninger during a ceremony held at CEDARS Hospital in July 2013. Prof. Dr. Guenther Kieninger is the Medical Director and Head of Department of Surgery at CEDARS - Jebel Ali International Hospital since 2004. With more than 35 years experience as Professor of Surgery, the German national was the Director of the Department for General Visceral and Trauma Surgery and the Medical Director of the Bad Cannstatt Hospital in Stuttgart until 2003 before joining CEDARS Hospital. He is specializes in general, abdominal and laparoscopic surgery and has operated on thousands of patients in Europe, US, Asia and Africa throughout his professional career. “His professional expertise and medical ethics are second to none and he has raised the standards of surgery not only in our hospital, but also in the UAE and worldwide,” says Dr. Adnan Kaddaha, Chairman and Managing Director of CEDARS - Jebel Ali International Hospital. Established in 1999, CEDARS – Jebel Ali International Hospital was the only full-fledged 24-hour medical center in the Jebel Ali area and it was upgraded into a hospital in August 2004. Today it is a full-fledged multi-specialty hospital offering services ranging from Pediatrics to Occupational Health, Laparoscopic Surgery to Internal Medicine. The Hospital is equipped with ICU for medical and surgical emergencies, with two major and one minor operation theatres as well as with fully equipped Laboratory and Radiology departments.
