Dubai, UAE: August , 2013: The new weight loss campaign titled “Your Weight in Gold” instigated by Dubai Municipality to create a healthy community encourages adults and children to lose weight and stay fit. GGI supported the campaign by providing all participants a free Body Mass Index (BMI) analysis and one-week free gym passes in their preferred GGI outlets in UAE. The BMI analysis for all participants was performed at Al Barsha Park and GGI club in Al Barsha Mall. Around 10,000 participants had free access to GGI clubs between August 7 and 11 in addition to a 15% discount on their 12 months membership and 18 months membership plans, which they had to enroll for before August 31, 2013. The Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre (DMCC) and Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) together sponsored this weight loss campaign in Dubai. Nitesh Seebran, Chief of Operations, Gold's Gym International says, “This healthy campaign initiated by the Dubai Municipality is a great platform to encourage different ways of getting healthier and maintaining one's health. Gold's Gym's involvement in the campaign is a testament to our commitment in helping people realise their strengths and we encourage all UAE residents to adopt a healthier lifestyle.” The 30-day weight loss programme, which commenced on July 19, will come to a close on August 31, 2013, where the final weights will be recorded. The first three winners who lose the most weight will win gold coins worth AED 20,000 through a lucky draw. The difference in weights of participants at the time of registration and at the end of the programme will determine the weight loss. Speaking of the excitement among the participants Nitesh added, “The campaign has aroused a huge interest in citizens with the gold reward, as every kilo now has the weight of gold.” All registered participants have to lose a minimum of 2 kgs to win gold; one gram of gold for each kilo lost from the participant's body weight. Interested participants had registered for the contest earlier with their national ID number at various jogging tracks and parks in Dubai. The initiative encourages residents to utilize these amenities and initiate walking as a healthy and economic exercise in their daily life to stay fit and healthy.
