Close-Up launched lately the City of Smiles competition in search for the city with the most number of comedians across the region. Over 4,500 entrants from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman shared their jokes through a dedicated Facebook and mobile application to help their city win the title of City of Smiles! Collaborating with the highly successful YouTube show, EyshElly, which is presented by the famous Saudi Arabian comedian, Bader Saleh, Close-Up spread smiles throughout the region. The competition which lasted around 6 weeks ran across Facebook, Twitter and through the mobile application which was downloaded by more than 2500 Close-Up fans. Following a strong online engagement, Jeddah was voted as the City of Smiles and to celebrate this win, Close-Up and EyshElly presented their fans with a comedy show that was organised at the Red Sea Mall. “Close-Up is all about bringing fresh confident smiles to youth around the world. City of Smiles was the perfect platform to engage with our consumers in a fun manner. The competition helped us connect with the community and allowed us to add some laughter into people's lives”, commented Bader Saleh.
