Kartell, the esteemed Italian design label, has just revealed its striking Flagship Store in Dubai Mall Za'abeel, signifying a pivotal step in the brand's growth strategy within the United Arab Emirates. This opulent store provides a captivating journey into Kartell's realm of elegance and pioneering design, beckoning aficionados to discover a diverse array of products tailored for a multitude of living environments.
Our delightful opportunity to converse with Lorenza Luti, Kartell's Marketing and Retail Director, granted us invaluable insights into this thrilling endeavor and Kartell's design philosophy within the UAE.
Let's dive into the exciting new product lineup Kartell is introducing. Can you tell us about some of the standout products and design inspirations behind them?
Lorenza Luti: Our new product lineup is all about pushing the boundaries of design, color, and personalization. One of the standout products is the 'Thierry XXL' designed by Piero Lissoni. It's an expansion of the 'jewel' tables family, perfect for dining rooms and lounge bar settings. These tables come in a vibrant range of colors and feature metal legs and colored glass tops resembling precious stones.
Another exciting collaboration is 'Eleganza Missoni,' where fashion brand Missoni, Philippe Starck, and Kartell come together. The NIA and ELA chairs incorporate Missoni's iconic jacquard fabrics with strong geometric motifs. These chairs not only exude style but also have a technological and green soul, as the chair structure is made using the illycaffè capsule recycling system.
Kartell's product range continues to impress. Can you tell us more about the GLOSSY family of tables and the FOUR table by Ferruccio Laviani?
Lorenza Luti: Certainly! The GLOSSY family of tables, designed by Antonio Citterio, now expands its range with square, oval, and round versions. The tops of these tables come in the new Nature Tundra and green marble effect finishes. The same finishes are replicated in the top of the FOUR table by Ferruccio Laviani. This offers a range of elegant and functional options for various interior settings.
The lighting options are also intriguing. Can you tell us more about the TEA lamp in the Applique version and the ANGELO STONE lamp?
Lorenza Luti: Of course! The TEA lamp is now available in the Applique version with four finishes: anthracite, white, terracotta, and dove grey. It's a great addition to our lighting collection.
The ANGELO STONE lamp, designed by Philippe Starck, is truly innovative. It revolutionizes the traditional light bulb and shade layout by placing an LED on the stem instead of above. This creates a captivating play of reflections through high-tech lenses. The one-piece molded lampshade, made of green-certified polycarbonate, ensures even reflection of light. It's available in table and floor versions with three finishes: champagne, copper, and titanium.
Kartell continues to push the boundaries of design and innovation. Can you share your thoughts on the HIRAY line, created by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba, for outdoor settings?
Lorenza Luti: The HIRAY line is a significant step towards creating refined and sophisticated outdoor settings. It's crafted using a welded wire technique and aligns with Kartell's commitment to using sustainable materials and industrial techniques. Metal in our outdoor collections allows for durable and long-lasting furniture, which can be recycled if disposed of properly, contributing to environmental sustainability.
