Langley Fox teams up with TUMI for Spring/Summer 2016 Tote

Dubai, UAE, June 16, 2016: Langley Fox, known for her illustrations, artwork, and fashion design, partnered with TUMI, the leading brand of premium travel, business and lifestyle accessories on a one-off collaboration for their Spring/Summer 2016 collection. The TUMI exclusive tote draws energy and inspiration from Fox’s own naturalistic pencil drawings— "I wanted the collection to give off a vibe of escaping to a far-off destination,” says the artist. “We can all take a cool photo and try to manipulate it through some app and make it look awesome, but we can't all draw something,” she says. “I met Michael through mutual friends and he said he wanted something ‘cool’, something that the TUMI customer has never seen before… and I thought… ‘Why not create a United States of TUMI?”

TUMI’s “Langley Tote” was designed for the "next generation of TUMI users for the girl on the go who’s not overly polished but ambitiously chic in her daily travels”, says TUMI Creative Director, Michael Petry. “Since beginning my role here at TUMI, the goal has been and will continue to be to evolve the brand aesthetic by making cool, innovative product and that’s just what this is.”

The image captured on the tote was inspired by a bohemian, wanderlust spirit; Langley’s illustrated muse is drawn from photographs she’s gathered from her travels and friends over the years. The East/West tote is an updated silhouette for the brand and features dual top handles with an attached interior removable pouch featuring a passport-type concept (Fox’s idea). A small, leather dangler to hold a pen for filling out traveler information is a clever design addition that is also removable.

Surrounding the launch of the new collaboration, TUMI enlisted Ms. Fox as part of its 2016 Global Citizen campaign. Whether she’s drawing at her kitchen table in LA or walking the runways in Paris, she epitomizes the modern-day globetrotter who’s always eager to explore a new city. Langley kicks off the Global Citizen campaign in May with the premiere video of her pit stop in New York City’s Chinatown. Starting in her apartment and stepping out onto the streets, Langley shows us the art of getting lost in the crowd while searching for the undiscovered gems ripe within this vibrant, bustling neighborhood. these exclusive Langley moments on Instagram (@TUMITravel) throughout the official launch week, giving her fans the ultimate behind-the-city sneak peek with this spirited emerging artist.

The TUMI Langley Tote retails for $595 and is available in select TUMI retail stores nationwide including New York’s SoHo and Flatiron stores and California’s Rodeo Drive location. Internationally, the tote will be available at St. Honoré in Paris, Regent Street, London, Milan, as well as in Japan and Korea.
