Dubai UAE, December 17, 2015: Architect and designer Gianfranco Ferré was one of fashion’s greatest masters. His legacy - which he built up at the same time as working at the French fashion house Dior and in his own Milan-based company, GFF - attracts attention for the designer’s timelessness, strict concept of elegance and command of volume, possibly due to his in-depth knowledge of architecture. In an analysis of his work, the designer’s fidelity to his own style is patent: deliberately constructed silhouettes, bold volumes punctuating delicate and elongated lines, sheer and opaque effects counterposed, his fondness for shiny and textured fabrics, his inclination for black and white. His style of woman, elegant and sophisticated, somewhere between the sensual Amazonian and the strictly bourgeois, is part of the contemporary imagination and continues to be as modern now as when he sketched them. But if there is an iconic garment in Gianfranco Ferré’s legacy that defines his personality as a creator, it is, without question, the white shirt: “A hallmark - perhaps the ultimate signature - of my style, which enfolds a constant pursuit of innovation and a no less unfailing love of tradition. It tickled my fancy for invention, incited my propensity for rethinking the tenets of elegance and style in an interplay of pure fantasy and contemporary design.” Throughout his career, season after season, Gianfranco Ferré never tired of this game. The foundation that bears his name now curates a collection of hundreds of white shirts that bear witness to his magnificent cutting skills and to his bold approach, with which he defied convention and reinvented this iconic garment time and time again. Ferré saw the white shirt as a universal garment that achieved perfection when each woman adapted it to her style. The perfect piece for his fusion of innovation and tradition. As a tribute to his legacy, we present a new fragrance line that pays homage to Gianfranco Ferré entitled “La camicia bianca secondo me”. With a deep sense of glamour and poetry and all the freedom and energy he poured into his designs, Gianfranco Ferré’s white shirt is never the same but it is always unforgettable. THE BEAUTY OF THE CHALICE. Fashioned with an eclectic selection of materials, each has a unique personality. They are voluminous in organza, floaty in gauze, weightless in taffeta, sensual in sheer muslin, fresh and delicate in cambric, and slippery in soft satin. Always architectural, it represents Ferré’s concern for the study of volume and his unceasing quest for new ways of putting these garments together. As he would say, it is a “must”, an essential piece for the contemporary woman. The inspiration behind the first fragrance of the collection came from the plant world. The calla lily is a semiaquatic flower whose petals form the shape of a chalice. This shape is echoed in one of the most emblematic shirts in the Ferré legacy, the CAMICIA 113. CAMICIA 113 is an original blouse design from 1982, inspired by the cup of the calla lily and manufactured in silk gazar, silk satin and taffeta. The front, cut like a bustier, is decorated by a gazar ruffle - like the shape of the calla lily as it furls in on itself. The ruffle rises to a point that almost reaches the face, while the waist is gathered by a band of backstitched satin. As the autumn-winter 1982 collection was inspired by fencing, we can see in the elegant line of the front pleating the bold gesture of a fencer’s foil practising an arabesque on the body. A marvelous, extravagant and sensual design that mimics one of the most beautiful flowers, a botanical whims that mixes audacity and elegance, with its mysterious and harmonious architecture. A glorious crown for a woman’s torso. CAMICIA 113 is an exercise in style, timeless and magical. The balanced and wise tension between tradition and creative freedom. An exceptional work by a master of couture. THE PRESENTATION: FASHION AND THE FRAGRANCE. The label on Gianfranco Ferré garments and the design and shape of the 113 blouse are the elements that inspire the packaging of the first eau de parfum of the collection. THE PACKAGING. A white, almost square box surrounded by a golden border features on the front the sketch - drawn by the master’s own hand - of the original design of the 113 blouse. It shows the zigzag line of the pleating that hangs on the shoulders. It evokes the shape of the shirt but also the fencing theme that inspired the 1982 collection. Above the sketch is the phrase that summarizes the collection, “La camicia bianca secondo me”, Gianfranco Ferré’s conception of this emblematic garment. Below the sketch, a band in relief uses the same typography to evoke the label inside the designer’s clothes: “Gianfranco Ferré” between two gold lines of backstitching. Below this, in discreet lower case and in sunk relief, “Camicia 113”, the name of the fragrance. At the top, above the box closure, the fragrance division’s logo. THE BOTTLE A white glass bottle, with bevelled edges and no sharp elements, holds the exquisite nude-coloured fragrance. It is a timeless and elegant bottle, which turns into an eye-catching design thanks to the matt methacrylate resin jewelled cap with shining edges, which echoes the curved zigzag line of the 113 shirt. The base of the cap consists of a textured ring with a band of silk fabric between two gleaming gold strips. Below this, on the glass, the label bears the logo in black and the lines of backstitching in gold and, at the base, “Camicia 113”, the name of this eau de parfum by Gianfranco Ferré. Exceptional packaging whose classic yet avant-garde design is both unrestricted and imaginative in its forms. Surprising and innovative, approachable and harmonious, just like each of the shirts sketched by the genial architect’s pencil. ELEGANCE AND STYLE: THE CHARM OF AN UNUSUAL CONSTRUCTION. CAMICIA 113 is a light, cheerful and feminine eau de parfum created by the perfumer Nathalie Lorson of Firmenich. It belongs to the oriental-floral-fresh family. As light as the touch that folds the silk over her bust - the same movement as the calla lily as it furls, engrossed - the bergamot bestows the final Mediterranean note of happiness as it celebrates the curve of the nape. This is the awakening of the fragrance, with a timeless wink, like the eternal style of the marvellous white shirts that are Gianfranco Ferré’s legacy. Surprising, like the unusual constructions that emerge from the dialogue between the tradition of a garment that is an indispensable classic in the contemporary woman’s wardrobe and the imagination of l’architteto Ferré, the fragrance gives way to the carnal beauty of white magnolia and achieves its moment of splendour with the intricate architecture of the beautiful peony. Then, with the familiar feeling of someone indulging herself by slipping into a soft, freshly pressed white blouse, we are welcomed by the simplicity of jasmine petals. An infallible refuge, like the very elegance of the garment, which gives way to a floral dialogue between iris and violet. Purity and character. Style and seduction. Gianfranco Ferré’s boundless imagination, inspired by so many worlds, reveals a taste for the Orient in CAMICIA 113. Siam benzoin defines its character, patchouli reveals its seductive side. Meanwhile, in a gesture as swift as the flourish of a fencer’s foil, the strength of musk closes the composition. CAMICIA 113 is a sophisticated and feminine fragrance. It caresses the body and offers the confidence of a well-cut pattern, the beauty of an exquisite fabric, the magic of an original, unique construction. The elegance, that is always different and innovative thanks to the work of Gianfranco Ferré, of the most traditional garment in a woman’s wardrobe: the timeless white shirt, Gianfranco Ferré’s creative fancy. Olfactive pyramid: Top: Bergamot, Magnolia, Peony Heart: Jazmine petals, Iris, Violet Bottom: Siam Benzoin, Patchouli, Musk CAMICIA 113: THE IMAGE The advertising image evokes the delicate construction of the lily-blouse, the legendary 113 blouse, which Gianfranco Ferré designed for his autumn 1982 collection. An airy silhouette like a junk, which envelops the beauty of the female torso with the elegant grace of silk gazar. Bare shoulders show their smooth contours as if they were arising from a velvety chalice, while the white purity of the fabric caresses a woman’s body. In tune with the image, the fragrance is nude in colour, evoking glowing skin. THE RANGE EAU DE PARFUM 100ml_395 AED EAU DE PARFUM 50ml_225 AED
