Image Nation Abu Dhabi, in partnership with TCA Abu Dhabi, is hosting a film screening of Visages d'enfants (Faces of Children) at Manarat Al Saadiyat on November 24. Image Nation, in partnership with TCA Abu Dhabi, is hosting a series of film screenings at Manarat Al Saadiyat every alternate Sunday. Titled ‘The 7thArt’, the programme is curated by veteran film historian Peter Scarlet. Launched in the beginning of October with the first two episodes of The Story of Film: An Odyssey directed by Mark Cousins, The 7th Art is set to host its next screening on November 24. (This will be on a Tuesday to avoid coinciding with exhibitions at the venue held in line with Abu Dhabi Art.) This week, Peter has chosen to screen the French silent film - Visages d’enfants (Faces of Children). The 7thArt screenings are curated in such a way that it explores various art movements in the history of cinema. Directed by Jacques Feyder in 1925, this film is a memorable example of Impressionism. Synopsis: An emotionally poignant study of the psychology of a nine-year-old boy, Visages d’enfants (Faces of Children) packs a powerful punch 90 years after it was filmed in Switzerland in 1925. The 7th Art will screen is a new digital restoration, with the original colour tints, and a new score composed by Antonio Coppola performed by the Octuor de France.
