Empowering students to earn while they learn, du marches on to develop the knowledge economy envisioned by the leadership Dubai, UAE, 28 October 2015: The excitement amongst ambitious UAE university students motivated to venture into the world of entrepreneurship with du’s Agent 055 Network was amped up a few notches this past week. Students were eager to meet with and deliver their CVs to du representatives during the open days at HCT Sharjah Women’s College and American University in Dubai on October 19 and 22 respectively. Committed to developing the UAE’s future business minds, du arranged university/college outreach programmes with HCT Dubai Men’s College, HCT Dubai Women’s College, HCT Sharjah Women’s and Men’s College, University of Sharjah, University of Dubai, Middlesex University, American University in Dubai and American University in Sharjah to further enhance its efforts and inspire the entrepreneurial spirit amongst the country’s youth. On Saturday, October 24, students were invited to partake in an aptitude test and interviews at the du offices as part of the assessment procedure, with additional interviews arranged for the following week. “The response amongst our country’s youth to the Agent 055 Network has really motivated all of us at du to further amplify our efforts in nurturing the UAE’s future leaders. There is a bright future of entrepreneurship on the horizon and we cannot wait to explore its potential further. Today we are giving young students the building blocks that will enable them to contribute to the knowledge economy of tomorrow,” said Hala Badri, Executive Vice President, Brand and Communications, du. “Entrepreneurship has long been one of our key sustainability pillars, and instilling an entrepreneurial spirit at a grass roots levels enables us to foster a dynamic ecosystem wherein innovation can thrive.” Once Agent 055 Network candidates have been chosen, they will be put through their paces by du on business, soft skills and product knowledge. Starting November 2, the students’ newly acquired skills will be put to use when they enter the business world as young entrepreneurs.
