Youth organization Green Hope conducted a path breaking Climate Change Conference on 17th Sep at the Emarat Atrium , with Ambassador Grace of Philippines as the Chief Guest

Dubai, September 26, 2015: Youth sustainability organization , Green Hope , conducted a hugely successful conference on the theme of Climate Change - The Road to Paris  on 17th September at the Emarat Atrium in Dubai . Attended by students from schools across the UAE , the conference call received an overwhelming response with the auditorium filled to capacity with over 120 attendees.

Climate Change , Global warming , green house gas emissions and the exponential rise of global carbon footprint were key themes which were discussed at this summit. Ambassador Grace of the Philippines Consulate in the UAE was the chief guest and key note speaker and in an inspiring message to the assembled youth , she urged them to take all actions possible to mitigate climate change and move to a zero carbon lifestyle.

The conference featured eminent experts , Mr Imtiaz Mahtab - President of the Middle East Solar Industry Association and Mr Nicolas Delaunay - Founder of Values Added who shared their immense experience and knowledge with the students.

In December , all roads will lead to Paris , with Global leaders converging at the UN Climate Change Conference called COP21 , to once again , negotiate carbon emission reductions with a view to reduce the global warming that causes climate change. Civil society is at the receiving end of the global warming syndrome and it is imperative for them to influence the negotiations positively. The youth constituency, who are termed as the Future Generations, are at greatest risk of inheriting a 'hotter' planet with limited natural resources due to the continuing climate change scenario. Thus it is very important for the children and youth to be an active part of the dialogue process on mitigating climate change. This is the background behind the  global movement called 'COP in MyCity' designed by a French organisation CliMates. They partner with youth organisations from different cities across the world to organize its own mobilization in order to bridge the gap between the city and the climate change conference in Paris.

Green Hope has been chosen by CliMates to be their partner to hold the 'COP in MyCity' in Dubai -- titled 'Paris in Dubai'.
Youth members of Green Hope spread awareness about climate change, its impacts and how we, as youth, should rise to the occasion and work towards mitigating its effects.
Green Hope  uses various mediums of communication during its workshops and during this summit used Art and Music to communicate about  'Climate Change'. Participating schools showcased their artwork and also rendered songs on the theme of climate change during the conference.  During the interactive workshops and breakout sessions , Delegate after delegate urged faster actions from both developing and developed nations to act on their promises of cutting down on carbon emissions and move to a green economy.
