Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 2nd June 2015: Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global leader in security software and solutions, will present at the International Conference on Computer Security in a Nuclear World: Expert Discussion and Exchange, a first-of-its-kind conference organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), June 1 - 5 in Vienna, Austria. The company’s experts will discuss the latest insights into the state of the SCADA/ICS attacks as well solutions, including Portable Security and SafeLock.

“Trend Micro is honored to be invited to present at this important conference,” said Loïc Guézo, information security evangelist, director and IAEA contact, Trend Micro. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting the IAEA and its mission to make the use of nuclear energy safe, secure and peaceful. The consequences of a cyberattack against nuclear, or other infrastructures, has devastating potential, making this event essential for helping ensure the safety and protection of people around the world.”

To combat cybersecurity attacks, the IAEA organized this conference, in cooperation with Interpol, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The IAEA aims to bring together experts from across the world who, like Trend Micro, are dedicated to providing tangible expertise, best practices, solutions, and guidance to the unique challenges of operators and builders in the nuclear industry. Participants will also discuss anticipated trends and ways to expand  international cooperation.

Created in 1957 by the General Assembly of the United Nations, the IAEA seeks to foster and facilitate worldwide development and practical use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, as well as research in areas, including cybersecurity. The IAEA is dedicated to providing nations with the necessary guidance and external expertise to support the detection of, and response to, criminal or intentional cyberattacks involving or directed at nuclear material, other radioactive material, associated facilities, or associated activities.

Trend Micro is well-versed on the challenges and concerns facing critical infrastructure and has published several reports on the topic of SCADA/ICS security:
