Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana had the honour of hosting under the patronage of the Private Department of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, the opening of the “Sowar” art exhibition for the artist Rabee Douier.

Rabee Douier’s paintings make a delightful addition to the lobby of Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana’s. The paintings on display are drawn from an interior and personal vision – they are an expression of his love of imaginary colours where he makes reality blend with fiction, a world between travel and ground. The guests were fascinated with the art work and saw through Rabee’s eyes his love and appreciation for culture. Inspired by the great impressionists, among them Van Gogh, many of Rabee’s paintings offer vivid imagery of local Arabian culture and among the paintings showcased one can see the Arabian oud, Arabian horse, camels and sail boat.

“The masterpieces are evocative and captivating, an opportunity to feel the artist’s love and fascination for the Arabian way of life. He is able to let the audience experience the Arabian culture through the eyes of one of its very own. It is always our pleasure to be the venue for talented artists. Furthermore, appreciation of art and culture are topics close to our hearts here at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana”, said Mark Timbrell, the General Manager.

The open exhibition will continue until the 5th of June 2015 for visitors to have the opportunity to engage with Rabee’s remarkable works on display and enjoy deep experiences of true art.
