Leading Dubai Chefs Share Top Tips in Italian Cuisine, Sushi Making and Confectionary Design Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers is now offering visitors and Dubai residents the chance to sharpen their culinary skills in a series of masterclasses lead by some of Dubai’s leading chefs.
Whether you are a chocaholic, have a passion for home cooked Italian cuisine, or relish the fresh taste of sushi, the masterclasses at the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers offer an opportunity to master new skills, and then savour the fruits of your labour afterwards. With something for all tastes, these intimate classes provide the expert chefs with plenty of opportunity to share tips and advice to help you dazzle in the kitchen. Become a Chocolatier In a two-hour class, award-winning Head Pastry Chef, Kapila Amaratunga, will explain the history of chocolate, how its use has evolved over time, and what the different percentages of cacao in chocolate mean. Participants will then learn how to work with chocolate and learn secret tips to make the perfect chocolate praline, chocolate fondant and petit fours. Once guests have made their chocolate delights, they can indulge in a delicious afternoon tea with other class participants, for a cost of only AED 350 per person. March classes attract a special rate of only AED 250 per person. The current scheduled classes, running from 11am to 1pm, are: • Tuesday 17th March • Saturday 28th March • Saturday 18th April • Tuesday 21st April • Saturday 23rd May • Tuesday 26th May Make the Perfect Sushi David Main, Head Chef of Creekside Japanese Restaurant, will teach masterclass participants the fundamentals of sushi making and teppanyaki at the top 20 TripAdvisor restaurant.
Over three hours participants will learn how to cook and flavour Japanese rice to make the perfect nigiri or maki rolls. This class also has a fun competitive element as participants are split into two teams to battle it out for the perfect menu. Working with an experienced chef, the teams are tasked with creating a new menu which will be prepared for the other team to taste and judge. Once the battle is over, all team members sit down and enjoy a selection of sushi platters, teppanyaki and soft drinks, for only AED 400 per person. A special introductory offer of AED only 300 per person is available for March classes only. Using only the freshest ingredients, master class participants will learn to beautifully prepare three staple dishes seen on menus across Italy. Then the group will sit together to enjoy the Italian feast that they’ve just skilfully created, at a cost of only AED 400 per person.
