Kris with a View: a cut above the ordinary

There is more to Sheikh Khalifah Bin Zayed Street than the usual street lights, traffic lights and shopping malls. Along the busy road you’ll find Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel that houses Kris with a View restaurant on the 19th floor.

Our group went to see what the restaurant offers and tried something that’s quite new to our palate. The place has a really chic and luxurious look with earth colors and mostly natural materials such as wood and stone dominating the design. The overall feel is light, inviting and relaxing.

To delight guests and soothe their mood, they have a live music performance in the bar section. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to experience it because we visited the place on a Saturday which is a night without live entertainment.

Service is prompt and friendly. The staff who we talked to was knowledgeable of the menu and very much willing to assist us with our questions regarding the extensive cuisines they offer, from Chinese, Thai and Malaysian to Indian and Arabic.

We started with an appetizing selection of Asian dishes, Japanese Salmon Salad, Thod Mun Goong and Sambal Prawn. The Salmon Salad was full-flavored and perfectly prepared. It was very light to the taste with a tinge of sweetness, blended with the right mix of traditional ingredients. The Sambal Prawn was exquisitely presented -- sweet, spicy and delicious! I had this in Malaysia before but this version is equally great.

As for the main courses, we ordered some of their best-selling specials such as Peking Duck, Mapo Tofu, Seafood Arabic Mix Grill and Szechuan Chicken. The Peking Duck so far is the best I’ve ever tasted here in Dubai. It was tender, moist within and not greasy. Their Seafood Arabic Mix Grill on the other hand was just as enticing and excellent to me - neatly prepared, beautifully cooked with an authentic Arabic flavor.

My team kind of struggled to come up with anything that could be improved that evening but we really think the restaurant is a sophisticated and relaxing dining spot perfect for busy people in all nearby places.

Kris with a View’s name truly speaks for itself: great ambience and food complemented with a scenic view of some of the city’s highlights. Highly recommended.
