HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Makoum and HH Sheikh Abdullah inaugurated the Gulfood exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Center

Dubai, 8 February 2015: Gulfood, one of the largest food and hospitality trade shows in the world was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

The event is happening from February 8 - 12, 2015 with attendees of more than 4,800 companies from 120 countries, making it the biggest edition since it has started.

Gulfood, on its 20th edition this year has contributed a vital investment platform for food traders and suppliers from all over the world for almost three decades now.

Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President of DWTC and organiser of Gulfood said: 'With billions of dollars’ worth of trading taking place directly on the show floor, business transactions at our milestone 20th event are expected to record their highest level to date - further enhancing Dubai’s position as the world’s leading trading hub and contributing to the growth and development of the UAE’s increasingly diverse economy.'

With Gulfood's vision to become the global Islamic Economy capital it will also bring together more than 1,000 international specialist Halal food brands and companies at the second annual Halal World Food, the world’s biggest sourcing event for Halal food products.
