More than 500 students were vaccinated as part of this campaign

Dubai,United Arab Emirates (December 23, 2014):Al Mawakeb Schools, alma mater to some of the UAE’s most eminent citizens and residents, warmly welcomed HE Eng. Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, during his visit to Al Mawakeb School in Al Barsha to raise awareness about the National Polio Campaign.

As part of the National Polio Campaign, the vaccine will be available free-of-cost across all DHA health facilities. This initiative is spearheaded by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with Dubai Health Authority and Health Authority Abu Dhabi.

Lauding the efforts of the DHA, Mr. Moussa ChahbazDeputy Principal, Al Mawakeb School in
Al Barshasaid, “Polio is an infectious, incurable disease causing life-long paralysis or death. As immunization is an effective and safe way to prevent it, it is our duty as educators to support to the Dubai Health Authority in their strive to eradicate Polio and we are committed to help raise awareness among our community for this dangerous infection. We urge all parents to visit health clinics and get their children vaccinated.”
