On the occasion of White Cane Day, Zayed Higher Organisation hands over Postal Services Guide in Braille to Emirates Post Group

The Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, represented byPrinting Press Centre for the Blind and Visually Challenged,handed overthe EPG Services Guide printed in Braille for the benefit of the blind, to mark the international White Cane Day, which falls on15th of October every year.

The guide contains information and explanation of the postal services offered by Emirates Post Group. It seeks to educate the blind on all postal services, as part of efforts to help thembecome active members in the development process of thecountry.

Mr. Fahad Al Hosni, Acting CEO of Emirates Post Group, said this step stems from the vision of Emirates Post Group to establish leadership in the field of postal services and to achieve one of the most important strategic objectives of providing quality services to all segment of society.
Naema Abdul Rahman Al Mansouri, Director of Printing Press Centre for the Blind and Visually Challenged, after handing over the guide to ThamnaAl Sharifi,Director of 1st Postal Zone, said the move is in line withthe partnership between Abu Dhabi institutions for realizing the mission of Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs of integrating people with disabilities in mainstream society. She added that the organization is keen to participate in projects aimed at providing publications and publications in Braille.

She said the Post Services Guide in Braille forms part of the efforts of the Zayed Higher Organisation to integrate persons with disabilities, especially the visually challenged in society, and added that providing information in Braille helps in the implementation of the policy of cultural and social integration.
She said the Organisationcollaborates with various bodies and institutions in the country that want to convert into Braille different brochures for the benefit of the visually challenged.

Thamnah Al Sharifi hailed the collaboration with Zayed Higher Organization in the publication of this guide designed for the blind. This conformswith the efforts of the Group to provide services to the community, through special training to the staff in dealing with all segments of customers, she added.
