Offering the chance to win a holiday to country that wins the tournament

Dubai, UAE, 23 June, 2014 - Football fans will be delighted to hear that The Walk at JBR is running an exciting social media competition during the World Cup encouraging fans to explore the international cuisines at The Walk that represent the different countries participating in the tournament. The Walk at JBR, Dubai’s most iconic tourist destination with annual visitor numbers reaching 12 million last year, is offering fans the chance to win one of three fantastic prizes. The prize for the Grand Winner is a trip to visit the country that wins the World Cup 2014.  The second prize is a 55 inch smart TV; and the third prize is a glamorous weekend stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Beach.

A dedicated Facebook application has been created where contestants can upload pictures of themselves with their favourite food dishes from The Walk at JBR’s F&B offerings, which cover more than 30 world cuisines.  Using the hashtag #footiefoodies, fans can upload a dish photo representing a country participating in the World Cup.  

The incredibly diverse range of restaurants and cafes dotted along The Walk makes this competition fun for the whole family and researching one’s favourite restaurant can be a pleasurable experience in itself! From Asian to Mediterranean, from classical French cuisine to casual dining at a pizzeria, The Walk offers something to suit every taste.

Contestants can increase their chances of winning by continuing to visit a different restaurant each time they eat at The Walk and uploading more pictures of themselves with the dishes, then sharing the pictures with their friends on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. 

As the World Cup coincides with the first two weeks of Ramadan, visitors to The Walk can take advantage of the late opening hours of the F&B outlets in The Walk and continue to send in pictures to #footiefoodies, with most F&B outlets opening from Iftar until 2 am.  Many F&B outlets at The Walk are also providing a variety of special offers for Ramadan, including Chillis, the Sofitel hotel, Cinnabon, Jedoudna Restaurant, and the Sheraton.   Visitors to The Walk can also benefit from seasonal promotions at Kidville, REDS travel & tourism, Red Dragon Gym, 800 Suits, Dreamworks, Double Tree by Hilton and Spa Dunya.
