Rami Amkieh Appointed SAP MENA Country Manager for Oman, Bahrain, Pakistan and Yemen

Appointment Adds Momentum to Regional Expansion Drive

MUSCAT, Oman - March 20, 2014 - SAP MENA has announced the appointment of Rami Amkieh as Country Manager for Oman, Bahrain, Pakistan and Yemen.

Reporting directly to Gergi Abboud, Managing Director - Gulf & Pakistan, SAP MENA, Amkieh’s role is an integral part of  SAP’s ambitious expansion in the region.

Amkieh joined SAP in 2006 as a Territory Sales Manager for the GCC Region, focusing on small to mid-market engineering, construction and operations. In 2009, he became a Senior Account Executive for Large Enterprise in the Gulf and North Africa regions. In 2011, he took on the role as Regional Sales Manager for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, focusing on consumer products and services industries.

Before joining SAP, Amkieh worked in Saudi Arabi as Business Development Manager at BT-Applied Technology, Region Business Development Manager at Zuhair Fayez Parternship-Information Technology and as Account and Product Manager at Softnet Systems/Gulf Stars.

In his new role, Amkieh will be responsible for driving all aspects of SAP’s business operations, including building on the company’s customer base, building and shifting market capacity, fostering a vibrant partner and ecosystem presence, increasing brand awareness, and building strategic partnerships with both the private and public sector.

“Rami has made invaluable contributions to building SAP’s business in the region over the past few years, and is now set to play an even more significant role as we step up our operations in Oman, Bahrain, Pakistan and Yemen,” said Abboud.

Amkieh will play a central role at the forthcoming SAP Forum in Muscat, Oman, on 24 February. The event will set forth SAP’s latest innovations, and features keynotes from SAP and its customers, panel sessions and technology demonstrations, with big Data, cloud solutions and analytics set to feature strongly.
